My First Girl’s Trip- Day 1

My First Girl’s Trip- Day 1

Hi there! I want to tell you about my super fun first trip with my sisters and best friend to a beautiful place called Gangtok. It was only us girls, and we were so excited but a little nervous too, especially during the flight. But as soon as we landed, we felt overwhelmed and amazed at the lovely place.

You won’t believe what happened next! As soon as we landed at Bagdogra airport, we were greeted with blazing heat instead of the chilly weather we prepared for. It was like stepping into an oven! We were practically melting, wishing we could strip down and jump into a freezing pool. Oh, the irony of packing winter clothes for a summer surprise!

Our 5-hour journey to Gangtok was a rollercoaster of awe and amazement. The roads, the people, the scenery – everything was so different and breathtaking. It was getting cold as we were going up into the mountains. We were so amazed by everything that I kept taking pictures on my phone(I had to charge my phone for 4 times in this 5-hour journey and I’m not complaining).

Gangtok was a charming mountain city, a rare sight for us city-born folks. Shops, restaurants, streets – everything nestled in the arms of the mighty mountains. You can bet we were like kids in a candy store, eager to taste everything at once.

Finally, we reached our hotel, where the real jaw-dropping moment awaited. Our room had a view that could make your heart skip a beat! Surrounded by mountains, clouds, and cool breezes, we felt like we were floating in a dream. The small houses below looked like tiny toys, and trust me, I couldn’t find words to explain how stunning it was.

But the fun didn’t end there. The hotel guy revealed a secret – our rooms were connected by a door! My sisters and my best friend were over the moon with excitement.

After freshening up, we hit the streets and found ourselves at the famous MG Marg. Known as Mahatma Gandhi Marg, nestled in downtown Gangtok, Sikkim, is the bustling pedestrian road of the city. If you take a stroll down MG Road, you’ll notice a unique feature – the buildings on both sides are painted green and the place was a treat for the eyes, with cute stores, picturesque spots, and oh, the restaurants! We settled in at a place called The Dragon Wok, and that’s where the real comedy began.

As we were getting seated, my sister and my friend spotted something on the menu – “SOJU.” They screamed with joy, and I turned around to see what the fuss was about. Well, turns out, they couldn’t resist ordering a bottle of strawberry-flavored soju. You should have seen their faces after taking a sip – pure bliss!

We also tried some native food, and let me tell you, our taste buds weren’t quite prepared for the “TUKPA” dish. It might be famous, but taste-wise, it didn’t quite match our fiery Southern preferences. We laughed it off and moved on to devour everything else.

After clicking pictures, meeting new people, and exploring, we headed back to our hotel, calling it a day. The first day was nothing short of beautiful, interesting, and hilarious.

That’s just the beginning of our girls’ adventure in Gangtok! Stay tuned for more tales of laughter, exploration, and bonding as we continue our journey through this mesmerizing city.
